This is the way I make decorative bobbles. It might be slightly unconventional, but I really like the result - a full-bodied bobble that is at the same time not too bulky. Enjoy!
A bobble is knit back and forth on RS and WS in 7 rows.
R1(RS): {k1, p1, k1 tbl} into the first stitch on the left needle; turn //3sts
R2(WS): p3; turn
R3(RS): k1, m1L, k1, m1L, k1; turn //5sts
R4(WS): p5; turn
R5(RS): k5; turn
R6(WS): p2tog, p1, p2tog tbl; turn //3sts
R7(RS): k3; do not turn:
- slip the first st from right needle back to left needle;
- pass the rightmost st on right needle over the other st on right needle;
- slip the st from left needle back to right needle;
- pass the rightmost st on rn over this st.
And voila!
