Elegant Women's Black-and-White Jacquard Pullover: Comprehensive Knitting Guide

Russian sizes: 42/44 (46/48) 50/52. The model can be enlarged to your desired size. You will need: 300 (350) 400 g of black yarn (62% wool, 25% cotton, 12% polyamide, 1% elastane; 135 m/50 g) and 100 (100) 150 g of white yarn (100% wool; 80 m/50 g); needles № 4 and 4.5; circular needles № 4.

Knitting Technique.

Ribbing: odd number of stitches.
Right side rows: edge stitch, alternately 1 purl, 1 knit, ending with 1 purl, edge stitch.
Wrong side rows: knit stitches as they appear.

Stockinette stitch: right side rows – knit stitches, wrong side rows – purl stitches.

Jacquard Pattern

Number of stitches multiple of 40 + 15 (21) 31 + 2 edge stitches. Knit according to the count chart in stockinette stitch using the Norwegian technique, carrying the unused thread loosely on the wrong side of the work. Start with the stitch before the right arrow, constantly repeat the rapport of 40 stitches between the arrows, ending with the first 15 (21) 31 stitches of the rapport and 1 edge stitch. Complete 1–44 rows once.

Knitting Density.

Jacquard pattern: 18.5 stitches and 20 rows = 10 x 10 cm.
Stockinette stitch: 14 stitches and 26 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Work Description

Back: with black yarn on needles № 4 cast on 73 (79) 85 stitches and for the bottom placket knit 4 cm = 10 rows in ribbing. Continue with needles № 4.5 in stockinette stitch.
After 35.5 cm = 92 rows (38.5 cm = 100 rows) 39 cm = 102 rows from the bottom placket, evenly increase 12 (12) 14 stitches in the next 2 rows = 97 (103) 113 stitches. Continue with jacquard pattern.
After 58 cm = 138 rows (60 cm = 144 rows) 62 cm = 150 rows from the bottom placket, bind off all stitches, of which the middle 61 (65) 69 stitches form the neckline, the outer 18 (19) 22 stitches – shoulders.

Front: Knit As The Back.

Sleeves: with black yarn on needles № 4 cast on for each sleeve 31 (33) 37 stitches and for the cuff knit 4 cm = 10 rows in ribbing. Continue with needles № 4.5 in stockinette stitch, evenly increasing 6 stitches in the 1st row = 37 (39) 43 stitches.
For slopes, increase on both sides in the 15th (13th) 13th row 1 x 1 st., then in every 14th row 2 x 1 st. and in every 12th row 5 x 1 st. (in every 12th row 4 x 1 st. and in every 10th row 5 x 1 st.) in the next 12th row 1 x 1 st. and in every 10th row 9 x 1 st. = 53 (59) 65 stitches.
After 44 cm = 114 rows (46 cm = 120 rows) 48 cm = 124 rows from the cuff, bind off all stitches.

Assembly: Sew Shoulder Seams.

For the neck facing, with black yarn pick up 120 (126) 132 stitches along the neckline edge on circular needles and knit 1 circular row purlwise. Bind off stitches as purl.
Sew in sleeves. Sew sleeve seams and side seams."
