Black dress knitted with needles

Sizes of the dress: S/M/L. The model can be enlarged to the size you need. Bust circumference: 82/90/98 cm. Length: 89 cm.

Patterns:

You will need: Yarn (95% extra-fine merino wool, 5% polyamide; 90 m/50 g) 250/300/350 g of black = 5/6/7 skeins; 200/250/300 g of black-and-white = 4/5/6 skeins; size 6 needles; 1 short circular needle size 6.

Pattern 1: (size 6 needles) ribbing = alternately 1 knit stitch, 1 purl stitch.

Pattern 2: (size 6 needles) stockinette stitch = knit rows – knit stitches, purl rows – purl stitches.

Knitting density: pattern 2 (size 6 needles) -16 sts x 22 rows = 10×10 cm.

Knitting description of the dress

Back

With black yarn, cast on 84/92/98 stitches on the needles, knit with pattern 1.

After 2 cm from the start row, continue with pattern 2.

After 20 cm from the start row for the side slope, decrease 8/9/9 x 1 st. on each side in every 10th row = 68/74/80 sts.

Armholes: after 69/68/67 cm from the start row, bind off 1 x 2 sts. on each side in every 2nd row and decrease 4/4/5 x 1 st. (see tips for decreasing on p. 19) = 56/62/66 sts.

Neckline: at the height of the armholes 18/19/20 cm, bind off the middle 26/28/30 sts. and on each side of them in every 2nd row stepwise bind off 2 x 5 sts.

Shoulders: at the height of the armholes 20/21/22 cm, bind off the remaining 10/12/13 sts. loosely.

Front

With black yarn, cast on 84/92/98 stitches on the needles and knit with pattern 1.

After 2 cm from the start row, continue knitting with black-and-white yarn and pattern 2.

Make armholes at the same height as on the back and in the same manner.

Neckline: at the height of the armholes 2/3/4 cm, bind off the middle 14/16/18 cm loosely and on each side of them in every 2nd row stepwise bind off 1 x 3 sts., 2 x 2 sts., and 4 x 1 st.

Shoulders: make at the same height as on the back and in the same manner.

Assembly

Sew the seams.

Neckline placket: with black yarn, pick up 126/130/134 sts. on circular needles along the neckline edge (back neckline = 42/44/46 sts., front neckline = 84/86/88 sts.)

Knit 2 circular rows with pattern 1, then bind off stitches with the Italian method.

Armhole placket: with black yarn, pick up 80/84/88 sts. on circular needles along the edge of each armhole.

Knit 2 cm in circular rows with pattern 1, then bind off stitches with the Italian method."
